"The Bravest Woman in Seattle," by Eli Sanders: Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing
“She survived an evil, gruesome attack. Her partner did not. An account of a victim, a widow, telling her story on the witness stand.”
I read this story when it was first published last year. This story of a survivor speaking up, publicly and at great risk to herself, to put her and her partner’s attackerĀ behind bars is incredibly powerful.
Trigger warning: This story contains graphic descriptions of sexual and physical violence.
